Flux Media Collective
Branding + Posters + Exhibition // 2018
The Flux Media Collective was created in the spirit of the Wellington Media Collective,
a not-for-profit design group who operated in Wellington from 1978-1998. Our group
was eleven communications design students from New Zealand, Germany, and Canada,
and we decided to create silk screened posters educating on New Zealand’s waste issues.
Outcomes from this project included four series of posters, with mine being displayed
here, a logo which I designed, and a small editorial about the collective. This project
cumulated with an exhibition in Dunedin, NZ, which we planned and executed.
The logo is meant to represent the idea of adapt or die, with a focus on change. My poster
series was designed to be eye-catching, with imagery that is slightly startling, especially
when connected to the facts. The posters also included the six “R”s (Reduce, Reuse,
Recycle, Refuse, Rehome, Rot) so that the viewer is not only informed about the issue, but
also given an idea on ways to counteract the problem.
